Wow, I haven’t been that up to date on this blog recently.
I’m in school now at YWAM. I’ve had an amazing first 5 days here. I live with 41 students, 6 guys and 35 girls. All the guys are so rad, we all live together in a side house, and the girls all live in the castle! Lucky them! But the side house is really rad, cozy, and it’s great that it is separated for some good ol personal space from the others.
So far the school has been pretty intense; spiritually and technically. I’d say more spiritually than anything else. They are pushing us so much to become one with God, and to have our faith has OUR faith, and no one elses.
So far, they’ve questioned why we believe what we believe : why we pursue God, why we call ourselves Christians, why we follow others and not take our own action to life, and why we want to become photographers.
It’s so good to have these questions thrown at you. It really makes you think. They don’t want us to follow the crowd here, they want us to become leaders of the nations, and they want us to find out why we believe in what we believe in. It’s so amazing and so healthy to figure these things out. It’s also very intense and agrivating, but all in all, this is disciplieship, and we should WANT that.
The first day was just amazing. We all had a welcome BBQ for all the students to meet up, see who they’re living with and just chill and hang out. At the end we started going into worship and intercession (prayer). Man, God showed up so vibrant tonight. I felt like I was at a revival. There were so many healings tonight, it was incredible. I was able to experience 3 healings from my friends and roommates here. “Set the captives free and call them out of darkness.” That is exactly what happened on the 6th (the first night). All of us prayed IN CONFIDENCE AND IN FAITH for God to move us, and He did, and He healed many of us there.
We were all just jaw dropped at what an amazing 1st experience we had with each other. We were all so pumped for the school and how God is going to work in us as 1 body to serve Him. Great first night :-D!
Since then, we’ve had many meetins to go over rules of the castle and the school, how we all have work duties, what we can do on the weekends, if guests can come and visit, and just the itenerary of the school year.
Our 1st day of real class was yesterday. We were taught about light. How light is so needed for the spiritual world, and for photography. And how both of them come together as one to serve God. Photography means “lightwriting.” As Christians, we want to “light write” on our lives, others lives, and the world. And that is how photography fits in so well for serving God. We can serve Him, thru photography, and show others the light of His glory through photography. Amazing! I love re-learning all the basics of photography, but also putting it together with being a missionary and a Christian.
They are also teaching us how to become independant in our Christian walk. How our character reflects who we are in Christ. It’s so amazing. To have photography class and to gain spiritual wisdom for our lives.

Ever since I’ve been here God has been moving me so much to become a leader in Him. To stand up for Him, to suffer for Him, to look stupid for Him, and to be bold in Him.
God has placed a brother in my life here that I’ve definitely prayed for. Tom is from Switzerland, and just rededicated his life just like I have a few months ago. I see things in him that I want to be and he sees things in me that he wants to be. It’s amazing how God works and just blesses us with people to call “brothers” or “sisters” in foreign places. Thank You God for this new brother!
I’m also picking up on German so fast here. I’ve been in Germany for 3 weeks now, and I can hold a basic conversation :-). It’s so difficult just to count to 20 in Germany. You have to move your tongue so much and be so specific when you pronounce. English is such a slurred dlanguage, that’s why it’s probably so difficult to speak :-P.

Our 2nd study of photography is Pinhole Cameras, and today we made some. I’m making mine out of a trash can bin and a hand made cardboard lid. I’ll hopefully post some photos up of my new trash can camera soon :-).
I also work in the kitchen, making dinner everynight with Tom. That’s my work duty, it’s pretty interesting and chill. Especially since Tom is a professional cook, it’s super easy.
Anyways, I’m basically just rambling now.
Here is amazing!
Forest, hills, castles, 80 new people living, free weekends, free food, photogrpahy, discipleship, raw honesty from others, and lives being changed.
Amen.
