I just finished the first week of school here at YWAM. It was pretty amazing to just be apart of the 1st week and see how things work, learn from who others are and just be able to fellowship with the people we’ll see for 6 months straight :-D.
It’s so AMAZING to be apart of a school with photographers. Everyone here LOVES photography and wants to grow in it. We all feed off each other so well, and we all learn from each other as well. I love being able to go out on adventures, travel through forests and just see what others think are beautiful or interesting. Amazing learning experience :-)
God is moving all the students here to have one mindset, and that is to serve Him. He is putting us in situations where we have the same ideas for a thing such as a prayer night, devotion mornings or just worship night. It’s great to see how we sometimes don’t have to speak a word, and God just moves us through Unity in Him.
We found out that when we go on outreach, the photographers will go on a separate outreach than the other 40 new kids who are coming next month. The photographers will be working for a new ministry/organization called “Pick A Pocket.” Pick A Pocket makes others aware of extreme poverty in broken nations. They want to use our photos for their organization to further the awareness of their campaign and what you can do to help prevent poverty. It sounds so cliche, but their hearts and mindset is so intense and passionate for it. Their ideas for the ministry is so creative and new. Something that some people have never thought of or ever done before. They want people to feel how it is to be in extreme hunger. So they encourage others to do the “30 Day” test. The 30 Day test is that you do not pay for your food for 30 days, you find people to pay for your food. For 30 days, you will save your money, and use it for this campaign, and throughout these 30 days, you will start to feel how intense some people live. How some people have to beg for a piece of bread, or for a spoon of rice. For 30 days you will suffer from starvation, and they want others to feel that, to feel how real it is and how needed it is for us to give our hearts to these people who deal with it daily.
With that said, I’m so stoked to go to Africa or Asia and give my life, heart and hands for these people who NEED it. Heal the sick and save the broken, through God. I’m so pumped for it. So is the whole school. A lot of us are so scared, but yet, so intensely desiring to do this. We are scared because we know how intense and real this 2.5 months of living in a different country will be. The horror we will see with our own eyes, the children we will hold with our own hands, the tears we will cry from seeing abused and suffering people, the photos we will have of the beauty of God in these countries, and the hearts we will touch with our own life stories and words.
God, I’m ready for you to take me on this journey. Not for my own selfish ambition, but to serve You, and to help Your children.
I’m ready to experience starvation, brokeness, weaping and healing.

In my next post I’ll posts some quotes from what leaders/teachers have said here during our sessions. I’m so overwhelmed and humbled by what we are being taught here, and seeing the hearts of the leaders here for us.
I just finished reading the book of Matthew. And through reading the teachings, death, resurrection, parables and miracles of Jesus, I realized how REAL He is, even today how REAL He is. Matthew has supplied me with a newer insight of Him and some amazing verses to pray over and use.
Tschuess!
