Hey friends and family!
Wow, let me tell you, Lacarno, Switzerland is the best place I have been to in my entire life, SO FAR!!! I arrived here one day ago. Last night I traveled to 3 countries in one night. Left from Germany, arrived in Italy, then drove to Switzerland. Pretty intense and very beautiful =). I am with 5 of my friends here in Lacarno, Switzerland. We are all hanging out at our friends house who he invited us to come for a week to spend Christmas with him. The best idea ever!
Lacarno is the most beautiful, interesting city I have been to. The enviroment, the people, the vibe, it is all perfect. It is so relaxing, chill, open, no rush, very very comfortable here in Lacarno. Lacarno is surrounded by the Alps (mountains) and in the middle of the city and Alps is a beautiful, wide river. The city is built in the mountains and by the harbor of the river. I could not have asked to be somewhere else for Christmas!
Today was my first full day in Lacarno. My friend, Tom, his brother, Livio, wanted to take all of us snowboarding today in Lacarno for a Christmas present. Of course I took the offer and wanted to try to snowboard for the first time in 4 years. The first 2 hours was a little difficult, then, I changed my foot setting after experimenting a bit and finally got the right set up for my feet, then I was perfect! I could not believe it! So for a few hours all of us traveled as a group and went snowboarding together, so much fun =). I was impressed by how a simple prayer and perserverance can help you in so many different ways in life. Depending on God to help me snowboard helped. I do not doubt that at all. Involve Him in your daily life, and you will definitely see a change =).
I leave from Lacarno on the 27 to head back to Germany. It will be hard to leave Toms family, house, and city. This is a dream city, for reals. Toms family is the most laid back, fun, and generous family to be around for one week. They lived in California for 8 years, so they speak perfect English, no problem!
In other news, I leave for Africa in 2 weeks!!!! Crazy!!!! I got my visa finally, and me and the team are ready to go! I do need to get some extra things before I leave (sleeping mat, sleeping bag, knife, sun screen, sandals, rubber bands, etc etc)
I am so excited to see what God is going to do in others, what He is going to show us, and what photos I will be able to capture.
I have also realized this season in my life is the best thing that has ever happened to me before. At the age of 19 I have traveled to 8 different nations (Austria, Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Mexico, Italy, Switzerland), lived in 4 different nations(Switzerland, Germany, Slovakia, Mexico), learned 2 languages (Spanish, German), and still has so much more plans ahead in the new year.
After Africa, our school is going to London for 8 days to show London how we have changed different parts of Africa and how Africa has changed us. We will have photo galleries and exhibits, concerts, and conferences to display and show London what God has done in Africa and in us. I am so excited to go to London after Africa! Wanna come and join us?!
Anyways, today has been an amazing and energetic day. I am going to go chill and watch a movie. It is so nice to have a week off of school and schedules and just be able to plan the day as it comes and chill.
